The GasFields Commission Queensland's article CSIRO leads air quality research in Surat Basin describes the air quality monitoring network that has been established in the Surat Basin. In addition to this network, air quality monitoring stations have been set up in other regions of Queensland as well. These stations collect real time air quality data, including the concentrations of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, methane, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, volatile organic compounds (like benzene) and particulates (like dust and pollen). This air quality data is live streamed on the Department of Environment and Heritage website.
